Scones

This morning I made a lot of Cranberry Scones that I plan to freeze. They are delicious and only about 60 calories each!

Happy 29!

So my boyfriend Matt turns 29 tomorrow! (next year is going to be a big year, I can't wait) But we celebrated this year with a more low key celebration. We started the day with a lunch at Iron Hill, my treat of course, and they even brought him cake with a candle! He spent the day playing video games or watching his choice on tv, either Family Guy or G.I. Joe. At night we had a few friends over and had some dessert and beer. Since I have been getting into cooking I made two desserts, German Chocolate Cake and Hot Apples in my slow cooker to put over Vanilla frozen yogurt. The cake was delicious but didn't look too good, I feel as though it may be material for Cake Wrecks. But somehow the candles I choose seem appropriate for the "wrecked" cake.

The menu from the weekend includes:
German Chocolate Cake
Hot Apples and Frozen Yogurt
Turkey Meatloaf
Pumpkin Casserole
Spanish Tortilla
Cranberry Scones

I plan to update my knitting soon and hopefully starting to take pictures of my culinary creations.

Happy New Year!

The start of a new year is usually time to reflect and look back upon the past year. Instead I am going to look ahead to all of the exciting new challenges that I am sure will come my way this year.

But first let me update a little about what has been going on with me. I spent November and December finishing all of the knitting projects for Christmas presents and they included some of the following.

This is a hat I made for my Godmother Barb, who I am sure is reading right now. Hi Barb! BTW, the hat is machine washable on delicate, I don't know if I told you or not.

This was my big project that has been top secret for almost a year, the Afghan I designed and knit for my mom. She really liked it and the best part is that is machine washable.

In November I also went to the Opera with Matt, which was a wonderful day for us.

Christmas was spent in West Virginia and New Years in West Chester. December was a very busy month with parties and fun things to do almost every weekend. Teaching is going well and my students present fun challenges every day.

So what does the New Year bring, only time will tell. But I would like to update this blog more than I have been. I am going to make a goal of updating it once a week. In addition to Knitting, I think I may have found a new hobby. I have been cooking a lot lately, trying new dishes. I may add that to the content of this blog. So for now I will talk to you all next week.
